AMI Endeavors to Foster the Social-emotional, Personal and Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults

“Safety and security don’t just happen; they are the result of collective consensus
and public investment. We owe our children, the most vulnerable citizens in our
society, a life free of violence and fear.” -Nelson Mandela

Motivated by concern for the alleviation of human suffering and the senseless violence, murders, and incarceration that disproportionately affect boys and young men in our communities, AMI endeavors to foster the holistic social-emotional, personal, and intellectual development of male students who are striving to overcome significant adversities and obstacles affecting their quality of life.

AMI firmly believes that by providing comprehensive support to these young individuals, we can empower them to navigate challenges and lay a strong foundation for a more positive and productive future. Together, we will work to develop national programs and partnerships designed to provide a safe and nurturing environment where boys and young men can grow and thrive safely without the hindrance of fear, violence, intimidation, and lack of vision for a prosperous future.

Looking forward, we focus on equipping boys and young men with the tools and skills necessary to address the various adversities they face, ultimately improving their overall quality of life. At AMI, we believe that providing comprehensive support and leveraging community and national resources are key to empowering male youth. Our goal is to help them build resilience, achieve their full potential, and improve their overall well-being.

Imagine a nation where institutions and programs are collaboratively designed to address the unique challenges faced by every boy and young adult male. This would ensure they receive tailored assistance to thrive, learn trades as early as middle school, and become self-sufficient as they pursue worthy goals that transform their lives.

It would be truly wonderful if families no longer had to experience the tragic loss of their sons due to homicide, incarceration, high school dropout, or a lack of 21st-century employable skills. Envision middle school boys engaging in specialized, hands-on training that leads to early entry into careers and stable summer employment, offering valuable real-world experiences. -Robert Hall, Founder & CEO

Strategic Partnerships

While numbers show growth, it is often the words of the students that reveal the heart of the trans-formation. The following are only a few remarks, gathered from post-program reflections, illustrate how Walking in Honor™ is leaving lasting impressions beyond the classroom.

At AMI, we believe that by working collaboratively with community organizations and educational institutions, we can create a supportive and sustainable environment for children and families. This environment is designed to provide essential resources and opportunities that encourage the development of strong family values, foster personal growth, and promote academic achievement.

Our aim is to build strong partnerships that will allow us to collectively empower families and contribute positively to the well-being of the entire community. We are confident that through these partnerships, we contribute greatly to the development of exemplary boys and young men.

AMI is committed to exploring innovative ways to improve the quality of the services we offer through collaboration, ensuring that together we can achieve our collective goals of expanding our influence and providing even greater value as we serve our communities.

Our Objectives

Our primary objective at AMI is to collaborate with and enhance existing children’s services in the tri-state area. We aim to offer our programs as a flexible, add-on enrichment component that can be seamlessly hosted during the school day, after school, or throughout the summer months, depending on the specific needs of organizations and schools. Our goal is to integrate effortlessly and provide valuable, supplementary support to schools and community organizations.

Our programs are also designed with older students in mind, incorporating essential components such as group mentoring, personal development, character education, interpersonal communication skills, career exploration, and job readiness. This focused objective encourages students to become more open to academic excellence, make healthy choices, and constructively identify the building blocks needed to prepare for and build their future.

Ultimately, AMI’s overarching goal is to foster self-confidence and provide crucial tools that will empower boys and young men to reach their full potential, work towards independent thinking, become self-sufficient and increase their quality of daily life.

“If we work upon marble, it will perish; if we work upon brass, time will efface it; if we rear temples, they will crumble into dust; but if we work upon immortal minds and instill into them just principles, we are then engraving that upon tablets which no time will efface, but will brighten and brighten to all eternity.” -Daniel Webster
